In the browser, first navigate to the SharePoint site that contains the contact list you want to synchronize. To connect a SharePoint contact list with Outlook 2010, please proceed as follows:
1.) Open the desired contact list via the quick launch bar (or click on "Site Actions" → "Show All Site Content" one by one, and then click on the contact list name in the corresponding section for lists).
2nd) At the top of the ribbon, on the "List" tab, in the "Connect and export" group, click "Connect to Outlook".
3rd) When prompted to connect the SharePoint contacts to Outlook, click OK.
4.) In Outlook 2010, the contacts will be added to the navigation pane under Contacts.
Notes: A SharePoint contact list can be synchronized between Outlook 2010 and SharePoint 2010. This allows you to store, share, and manage SharePoint contacts in Outlook more efficiently. You can also put the contact list in offline mode, work with the contacts, bring the contact list back online, and then synchronize it with Outlook 2010 or SharePoint 2010. In Outlook 2010, the synchronized SharePoint contact list works like any other Outlook contact folder. You can view, edit, print, and even call these contacts using Microsoft Office Communicator. You can send them e-mail messages and meeting requests, organize them using color categories, store multiple phone numbers and e-mail addresses, and include contact photos, electronic business cards, and birthday and anniversary information. This synchronization of contact lists is two-way (bidirectional). Changes made to these contacts in Outlook are automatically synchronized with the SharePoint contact list. Changes made to the SharePoint contact list are automatically synchronized with the contacts in Outlook. When you open a SharePoint contact in Outlook or the contact list in SharePoint 2010, the most recent change state is displayed. If changes are made to the contacts in Outlook while the SharePoint contact list is open, you must refresh the browser display to see the latest changes in the SharePoint list. If changes are made to the SharePoint contact list while the contact is open in Outlook, you must use the Send/Receive command to view the latest changes to the Outlook contact.
